Glass Metal Clay is an advertising collective for artisans who create beads & findings for use by other artists who design jewelry, housewares & accessories.

Our first ads came out in September 2007. Website owners interested in participating in Group Advertising are welcome to visit our parent site at www.AdChiclet.com for information about upcoming magazine advertising plans.

Glass Metal Clay is a group of artists who make lampwork beads and findings. There are over 70 creative artists in the group who make many different kinds of beads. Most of our artists use lampworking techniques to melt colored molten glass into one of a kind beads.

Glass is a very flexible medium and some of our artists produce lovely organic work, while others push the glass into miniature sculptures of fantasy creatures. The colors range from natural shades to brilliant hues in modern colors. All of the artists represented on Glass Metal Clay create their beads from scratch, making jewelry created with the beads rare and one of a kind designs. If you are looking for lampwork beads of any type chances are one of our artists makes it. And it not some members are happy to create custom work.

The Glass Metal Clay group does have some metal artists as well. Our metal artists create findings for jewelry. Their finding's let jewelry artists create pieces with features like the ability to switch out the beads on your earrings or to create rings using beads as a set stone. We have findings for making dangly earrings, clip on earings, hoop earrings, pendant necklaces, Toggles and clasps. Findings are available in sterling silver, stainless steel and 14k gold.

Where does the 'Clay' part of our name come from? Some of the artists incorporate PMC (Precious Metal Clay) into their work. Right now we do not have any Polymer clay artists but they are welcome to join, along with ceramic artists. As long as your bead or finding is handmade by the artist we are happy to have them as part of our group.

Some of our artists provide tutorials to help people learn about making jewelry or to learn about making beads. A list of the tutorials available can be found under the 'tutorials' section. Others provide galleries of past designs made using their beads and findings. Links to these sections, and other areas of the member’s websites can be found under our "Members" listing.
